christmas bokeh

Bokeh is a Japanese word for blur, and it's used to describe a pretty, out of focus, area in a picture. My favorite kind of bokeh occurs when the blurred area of the picture includes lots of little lights such as traffic lights, city lights or...Christmas lights! I've had this tutorial on my Pinterest board for awhile now that teaches you how to manipulate the bokeh in a picture to turn the lights into different shapes. However, it wasn't until I saw Emily try it on her Cupcakes and Cashmere blog that I decided I should try it too!

I love how it turned out! I can't wait to try this with all sorts of different shapes and lights.
